110% Effort on the Field and in Life

Trident Baseball was founded by Michael “Coach Mike” Doyle in 2006, with a goal of turning boys into men “one pitch at a time.”  Mike’s vision was to use baseball as a vehicle to teach young men that hard work, self-discipline, self-motivation, and respect for self and others, are the cornerstones to building strong character.  Adopting a fundamental philosophy of 110% Effort on the Field and in Life, Mike created an environment through which his players could develop physical and mental confidence, and a solid work ethic through the mastery of a difficult sport.

Following the 2007 season, under Mike’s leadership the Trident Baseball Club was formed as Washington Nonprofit Corporation and recognized as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

In establishing the Trident Baseball Club as a recognized charitable organization, Mike’s vision was to create a vehicle through which the club could expand and provide greater opportunities for young men to grow through participation baseball and community service activities.

Coach Mike’s lengthy battle with cancer ended on April 2, 2008.  Mike touched all us of through his contributions to the club and the opportunities that he made possible for all of the families involved with Trident Baseball over the years.  Trident Baseball will continue to honor Mike’s memory through practice of the fundamental philosophy upon which he founded the club; 110% Effort on the Field and in Life.
